BIG NEWS! I'm making a mini human. 😍 I thought Valentines Day would be an appropriate day to spread this loving news. We're super excited and happy about this new chapter in our life. I've written a short little blog to answer the most asked questions.
"I must have been 4 years old, when I had my very first encounter with fat shaming." Yes, I was this young when body insecurity introduced itself in my life. Today I'm 29 and I am proud of my body, but it took a rocky road to get here. Sharing my personal story might help empower others in their body positivity journey and I hope talking openly about this subject will prevent future generations to unnecessarily feel like shit about something as amazing as their natural body.
Dream Team Alert! In this #supportyourlocals I'm featuring the story of Raquel Duvalois & Thomas van Boheemen and their agency: Son of a Brand. You might know them because of the Scandinavian labels they represent. Besides sales they also got into producing film & photography projects. So creative! And they're a couple! How do work together as a team? You'll find out in this interview!
The last time I wrote down my goals was quite a while ago, but when I look back at that list, almost everything has been achieved!
So here are my photography goals for 2019. I've been reflecting on what photography means to me and what impact I want to have. It led me to my vision of an ideal world and therefore I'm committed to use my camera even more for a positive contribution towards self-love, feminism, veganism, body positivity and fair & sustainable fashion. LET'S GO, 2019!
Save the date! My second exhibition of this year is happening and this time I've made entirely new work to show. It's a mixed media series of analogue photography and digital manipulation and illustration. I hope you will come to the opening night on the 7th of December at KADE40 in Vlaardingen. Read the article to find all the information you need! :)
How do you start your day? Do you get up and start running? I used to. It made me feel drained by the time it was 4 PM. I felt like I needed to change some things.
Now I start my day slow: with tea, a meditation and some writing. I'm still not a morning person, but I'm not tired at 4 PM anymore. Want to know what my Morning Ritual looks like and how it benefits me as a HSP? Read the article! ;)
Whenever you spot this lady, your eyes are treated! Stylist and fashion designer Inez Naomi makes sure she has fun dressing herself in a way that she describes as a bit tacky, but in a chique way. In this month's #supportyourlocals article she shares her favourite quote by Cher, what her creative studio named STUDIO INCA is all about and why she thinks listening to other peoples opinions isn't very important when it comes to inspiration.
Ellemieke and I have a few things in common. One is our big love for the 70s! With her brand The Dutch Rebel she paints awesome designs on the back of vintage jackets. The brand keeps on growing and in this article Ellemieke talks about her biggest career highlights so far, but she also shares her insecurities. WARNING ALERT! When reading this article you might fall in love with The Dutch Rebel and want a jacket yourself!
I don't know about you, but I am seriously digging Instagram's IGTV. In the past two months that the feature is available I've been vlogging backstage at my photo shoots and at fun events like Amsterdam Fashion Week. Some lovely people have complimented me on the look and feel of my videos, so I thought it would be nice to share some easy editing tips I apply myself. They might be helpful if you want your IGTV episodes to stand out. ;) What's your opinion on IGTV, love it or hate it?
